I’ll be honest, if Anbernic had announced both consoles simultaneously (hello, Retroid), I wouldn’t have bought the RG35xx Plus, as I find horizontal models more comfortable. Below, I will share my thoughts on these consoles without explicitly highlighting pros and cons. Each person can decide what is more convenient and important for them.
Everything described below is my humble opinion.
1. Ergonomics: The key aspect of the RG35xx H model. Using the shoulder buttons is much more convenient, plus the inclusion of sticks eliminates the need to constantly switch between the stick and the d-pad.
2. Stereo Speakers: The RG35xx H boasts much better sound quality with its stereo speakers compared to the 35P.
3. Audio Issues: Specifically, in my RG35xx Plus model, there are problems with certain headphones. Only mono sound works, making it impossible to play with headphones (only music plays, without interface sounds and others).
4. Aesthetics: The black matte finish looks much better than white. It’s a pity that Anbernic doesn’t introduce a full-color palette for all consoles.
5. Hardware and Software: Both models are the same in this regard, although it feels like the screen on the RG35xx Plus appears larger than on the RG35xx H.
6. Compactness: While they seem almost identical in size, the horizontal model fits more comfortably in the pocket.
7. USB-OTG Ports: The RG35xx Plus has 2 USB-OTG ports, allowing the connection of two wired gamepads.
