All the advantages of the new Retroid
The Retroid series has reached the power level of smartphones, thanks not only to the processor but also to other improvements. The inclusion of UFS memory instead of the archaic eMMC significantly increases read/write speeds, doubling compared to previous Retroid models. UFS memory is now common even in budget smartphones, but they cannot output images to a TV. This is another advantage of the Retroid, which can be used as a stationary console to play on a TV in full HD quality. Like the Nintendo Switch, the Retroid 4 Pro can output 1080p on a TV from a 720p internal resolution, whereas the standard Retroid 4 can only output 720p due to its lower power.
Many users complained about the inconvenient location of the start/select buttons on the Retroid 3. Developers addressed this by moving them to the front in the new model. This is considered an improvement, but the addition of home/back buttons is even more significant, as it keeps the screen cleaner. Additionally, Retroid consoles have started featuring analog triggers (smooth pressing without a click), found in the Flip and Retroid 2S. The 3+ model lacks these triggers, making the 4 an attractive choice.

The Retroid 4 is closing the gap with its sibling, featuring the same processor but not the same screen size or resolution. Odin offers a larger and higher resolution screen.
Retroid Pocket 3+
The previous model remains relevant if PS2 games are not your primary goal. It is still a solid option, despite some users rushing to upgrade.

The 5.5-inch AMOLED 1080p screen is its standout feature. If this doesn’t convince you, there’s little else to consider with Anbernic.
AYN Odin 2
