Learn how to limit the number of save slots for specific games or platforms on your Anbernic RG35XX using Garlic OS. Here are two methods to manage save slots effectively:
Method 1: Setting a Maximum Number of Auto-Saves
- Go to Settings -> Saves -> Max Auto-Saves Slot Increment (set to 0 for unlimited).
- Save this setting in Quick Menu -> Overrides. If you want to apply this setting globally, change it through the RetroArch shortcut in the main Garlic OS menu.
With this setting, save slots will appear to grow indefinitely in notifications, but the actual files will be limited to the specified number. For example, if the limit is set to 10, the 11th save will delete the first file (keeping only slots 2-11), and so on, maintaining a constant number of saves.
Method 2: Disabling Automatic Save Slot Increment
- Disable Settings -> Saves -> Auto Increment Save Slot.
With this setting, new save files or slots will not be created. Each save will overwrite the current slot. You can select the save slot manually through the Quick Menu or using the hotkeys Menu + Left/Right.
