Anbernic is reportedly planning to release a new XX (H700) version of the RG Cube, according to a tweet from the YouTuber Joey’s Retro Handhelds. The new device is expected to feature a square 1:1 screen ratio and will run on the same H700 chip used in other models like the 28XX, 35XX, and the 40XX series.
Additionally, there are rumors of several other upcoming models, including the 40XX SP, 40XXP, 40XXPS, 40XXM, 40XXV, and 40XXarc. The 40XX SP, with its clamshell design, could offer a great combination of budget-friendly performance and nostalgia, much like the RG35XX SP, but with a larger 4-inch display.
Fans of Anbernic’s products seem eager for these new releases, especially given the potential for improved pricing and design features that were a sticking point for previous models.
