Using the default RetroArch32 with the PSX Rearmed core can cause occasional micro-freezes and audio crackling. Games run best when RetroArch is set to use the Duckstation core. The photo shows how to set this up.

Please note that switching emulators means you’ll need to start your game over, as they interact differently with virtual memory cards and save states.
