Data Frog R35S / R36S Guide for Java Game Setup and Control Configuration

The Data Frog R35S/R36S can run Java games, but setting up the controls with Retroarch requires a bit of work. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Install the AmberFlec firmware.
2. When loading games onto the flash drive, create a folder named “j2me” among the emulator folders and add a few games from an old SE K750i phone to this folder.
3. Insert the flash drive with the games into the console. A Java option will appear. Open it, and your games will be displayed. When attempting to launch a game, an error will occur stating that it needs to download a system component from the internet.
4. Connect your phone to the console using an OTG adapter and a Type-C cable.
5. On your phone, enable USB tethering in the settings.
6. Go back to the Java section on the console and start any game. Wait for the necessary components to download automatically. Do not interfere with the process. The game will launch by itself once the download is complete.
7. To configure the controls, press the L3 and R3 sticks simultaneously while in the game. This will bring up the Retroarch menu where you can adjust the settings as needed.
