How to Enable Vibration for PS1 Games on GarlicOS for Anbernic RG35XX

To enable vibration in PS1 games on the Anbernic RG35XX using Garlic OS, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Quick Menu (Menu + X).
  2. Select “Controls”.
  3. Go to “Port 1 Controls” and set “Device Type” to “DualShock”.
  4. Save the settings by navigating through Quick Menu (Menu + X) -> Controls -> Save Core Remap File/Game Remap File.

Note: In some cases, you might need to start the game from scratch (using the Start button) rather than from a saved state. Additionally, ensure that vibration is enabled in the game’s settings menu (for example, vibration is turned off by default in Tekken 3).

PS: Be aware that some games may expect analog/left stick control when using DualShock. In older versions of Garlic OS, you will need to manually assign the left stick to each d-pad button. From version 1.3.7, you can go to Quick Menu (Menu + X) -> Core Options -> Input -> D-Pad Mapping and select Stick or D-Pad + Stick (or use the Select + R2 combination during gameplay).

If, after switching to DualShock and performing a cold start (starting with the Start button), the game does not respond to button presses (any buttons, not just the D-Pad), it is likely that the game does not support DualShock.
