How to Recover a Bricked Trimui Smart Pro Console

If your Trimui Smart Pro console isn’t turning on after an update, but the charging indicator lights up, try the following steps:

What You Can Do:

  • Cry
  • Throw something against the wall
  • Order another console to support the manufacturer
  • Order a different console
  • Give up retro gaming (shouting: “Forget it!”)
  • Go for a walk
  • Read a book
  • Meet someone new (optionally a girl or a guy)

What You Need to Do:

  1. Download the recovery image from the official page: here or get a newer version from another reliable source. Look for a file like sd_recovery_tg5040_smart_pro_v1.0.4_20240401.zip (version numbers may vary in the future).
  2. Extract the archive.
  3. Use a different flash drive than the one you use for gaming.
  4. Format the flash drive to FAT32.
  5. Write the image file (.img) from the archive to the flash drive. For Windows users, everything you need is in the archive. Etcher is also a good option for this.
  6. For MacOS and Linux users, Etcher is ideal
  7. Insert the flash drive into the console.
  8. Turn on the console.
  9. Wait for the progress bar to fill completely and the console to turn off (this should only happen once).
  10. Remove the flash drive.
  11. Insert your usual flash drive with emulators and games.
  12. Turn on the console.
  13. Congratulations, you did it!

If this doesn’t work and the console still won’t turn on, refer back to the “What You Can Do” list.
