Optimizing Dreamcast Emulation on Data Frog R36S with ArkOS 02232024 (AeUX)

Recently, I received my R36S and installed ArkOS 02232024 (AeUX). Everything is running smoothly. While playing Dreamcast games, sometimes the audio slows down and some text becomes unreadable.

Here’s how to adjust the emulator settings for Dreamcast to fix these issues:

  1. In Retroarch32 settings, go to the quick menu.
  2. Select Core Options.
  3. Under Video, set the resolution to 640×480.
  4. Turn anisotropic filtering off.

These changes made the text clearer and did not impact performance. I tested this on Jet Set Radio, Ecco the Dolphin, and Sonic Adventure 2. I plan to experiment with frame skipping similar to the PSP emulator, but for now, the performance is great.
